Going through this wedding its impossible not to smile. There was a lot of love in a field in Dorset this June. And not just between the lovely bride and groom, their great friends and close family but the love shown in every detail of the wedding from the hundreds and probably thousands of sequins that made up the bar sign to the beautiful hand stitched animal masks for the kissing booth. The amount of detail and hard work that went into this Dorset wedding was quite astonishing and all of it lovingly crafted by our talented bride Kat with a little help from Joe. I'm hoping for Kat's full story on the day but in the meantime I will summarise this amazing wedding. So Kat's vintage, upcycled and bespoke wedding dress - WOW. The lace over lay started life as an Edwardian lace curtain, a slip was made and an olive green velvet ribbon held the delicate dress pieces in place. Kat wore simple ballet pumps and a stunning English flower crown. The groom and best man were in muted blue tweed three peice suits and the ushers in complimentary stone waistcoats with blue detailing. The bridesmaids were allowed to choose their own dresses and all wore pretty floral circlets. The bridal bouquet was made up completely from English flowers all grown just 50 metres from the campsite and more local flowers and foliage were used in bottles and jars to decorate the barn. The outdoor ceremony was a blessing lead by a close friend and the couple said their vows in front of a beautiful wood and foliage archway featuring kat and Joe's initials. After the wedding blessing guests feasted on the Bring and Share buffet which fitted the relaxed vibe of the day perfectly. An afternoon of fun and games followed including welly wanging, sack races, egg and spoon races, the best bouquet toss EVER and not forgetting the daylight disco. Guests made their way down to the beautifully decorated Barn for a rustic feast of local lamb followed by some very moving speeches. Such an incredible day, Kat and Joe together with their happy guests were a joy to photograph. We received a lovely message from the couple and if you get to the bottom of this huge blog its worth a read :)
Congratulations to our clever, creative couple, the lovely Kat and Joe.
Hey!! Thank you two so much for the photos - they are INCREDIBLE!! We love them so so much - I showed them to a couple of people at work today and they agree that they are the best wedding photos they've ever seen... I know I'm biased but seriously - they are amazing. My mum was saying that you've somehow managed to capture the spirit of the day like she's never seen before and I totally agree, they are simply stunning. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed the wedding - it was a joy having you there. I honestly can't say enough how grateful we are - the photos are everything that we hoped they would be and so much more.
